How Flexxi used Lummi to elevate designs and streamline workflows for clients

A look inside how Flexxi leveraged Lummi to transform client design projects.

We talk a lot about how Lummi tools can have a transformative effect on your projects. Of course, we know how it can help you make incredible designs and improve your workflow, but maybe you'd like to see it in action. Perhaps you want to see a real-life example of someone or a company with a Lummi success story.

We hear you, which is why sat down with Allie Vogel, Founder and Head of Design at Flexxi, to get an inside perspective on how Lummi has helped her team make even better designs for their clients.

Q: Tell us a little about the first time you heard about Lummi. What were your initial reactions?

I first heard about Lummi when Pablo Stanley and the Lummi team experimented with it in the early days. What immediately caught my attention was how it reimagined how we source and generate visuals. The idea of an AI-powered tool that could create high-quality, brand-consistent imagery—without the usual compromises of stock photos—was incredibly compelling. As a designer, I always approach AI tools with a critical eye, but Lummi quickly proved to be something different. It wasn't just automating a process; it was elevating it. Now, using Lummi is part of our daily client workflow.

Q: Could you tell us a little about how Lummi fits into your workflow at Flexxi?

At Flexxi, we work with fast-moving startups and enterprises that need to stand out visually but often don't have the budget or time for elaborate photoshoots. Additionally, on the enterprise side, companies need brand-consistent visuals. Lummi fits seamlessly into our process by allowing us to generate custom, high-quality visuals that align with our client's brand identity. Whether we're designing pitch decks, stunning websites, marketing materials, or product interfaces, Lummi helps us bridge the gap between stock imagery and truly bespoke assets. It's a powerful complement to our design work, saving time while maintaining high creative standards.

Q: What are some of your favorite examples of your work where Lummi helped make a project stand out?

One standout example was a website project for a real estate company that didn't have any inventory yet. Everything had to be imagined and illustrated. They needed visuals that felt futuristic and human-centered—something that stock photography couldn't quite capture. With Lummi, we generated imagery that seamlessly blended their brand colors and messaging into hyper-realistic, on-brand compositions. It added a layer of polish and uniqueness to their website and investor materials.

Q: Do you have a favorite Lummi feature that you find yourself constantly using?

The ability to fine-tune the mood and aesthetic of an image is a game-changer. Staying consistent with a brand is key! I love how Lummi allows us the creative flexibility of a full-scale production without the logistical overhead. The ability to generate consistent, brand-aligned visuals is something I find myself using again and again.

Q: Have your clients noticed the quality of the visuals? Can you recall any testimonials regarding the outcome of the designs?

Absolutely. One client recently told us that the visuals we delivered "felt like their brand finally had a face." That's a huge compliment, especially for companies still shaping their identity. Another founder mentioned that our investor deck—enhanced with Lummi-generated images—was a key factor in their last funding round. It's rewarding to see how these AI-driven visuals aren't just placeholders but real assets that drive engagement and impact.

Q: Do you have any advice for designers who are skeptical about AI stock images?

I totally get the skepticism—AI-generated imagery has historically been hit-or-miss. But I'd say to designers: don't think of AI as a replacement but as an extension of your creativity. The best tools don't take away creative control; they enhance it. Lummi gives you a starting point, a way to push boundaries and create visuals that would be difficult or time-consuming otherwise. It's about working smarter, not replacing the designer's touch.

Q: Anything else you'd like to add? Something else designers and creatives should know?

I think we're at a really interesting moment where AI isn't just automating design work—it's augmenting it. The key is knowing how to use it as a tool rather than letting it dictate the outcome. The future of design isn't about choosing between human creativity and AI—it's about blending the two in a way that unlocks new possibilities.

The right images can change everything

Allie's story of how she's able to use Lummi images is just one of many out there. Creatives of all types and disciplines are finding new ways to give their projects a bit of visual magic with Lummi images and tools.

But as the old saying goes, an arrow can only hit the target with its archer. That means it's up to you and your creative visions to make your projects shine.
